We had a virtual committee meeting on Monday and, subject to approval by National and District CTT, agreed to restart club 10’s on Tuesday 14th July, starting at 7pm prompt. Please be there in plenty of time to sign on and be ready to ride. They will carry on until, 25th August - the last 2 will start at 6.45pm. They will be for club members only, initially, until we get an idea of numbers. No entry fee will be charged - the club will pay the levies from club funds. You will be issued with a number to keep until the end of the season, so you will need to bring it with you each time you ride. You will also need to remember to bring a rear light, as you can’t ride without one. social distance to be maintained at all times. There won’t be a pusher off. Start with one foot on the ground. Results will be published on Facebook and the club forum, soon after the finish, to avoid the need for close contact at the finish of the event.
League and handicap points will be issued and we will nominate an event as the club champs.
Following an experiment at the weekend, I thought that we could have some small scale Cafe Meets Ups, for those interested. The idea is that we pick a cafe selling takeaway drinks, that has suitable outside space in the grounds or nearby. We nominate an approximate time of arrival. People then ride out singly or in pairs to the cafe, order a drink, have an outside, socially distanced chat with some of your club mates, then ride home again on your own or in pairs. So, we will start this coming Wednesday 17th June, the nominated cafe is Newfield Ice Cream Parlour near Hockerton. We will aim to be there between 11.15 and 11.30. Be aware that it might be busy and you may have to queue for a bit. There are 2 grass areas where we can sit. You might want to bring something to sit on (your rain jacket?). Hope to see you there.
They have started resurfacing work between Cropwell Bishop and the crossroads at Colston Rd and Swabs Ln. Advise to seek alternative route for a few days as they are doing a full resurfacing job....About time!
