Had a bit of an accident - not bike related! Dropped a weight on my hand split two fingers open at the nails and broke them both at the tip. Will not be riding for a while. Have to go to the fracture clinic Wednesday, will know more then. There always seems to be something! Boohoo!

Ouch – that doesn’t sound good. You can turn this into a positive though, the Lighthouse race is in 12 weeks’ time which is an ideal amount of time for a serious training block and plenty of time for you to heal. If you haven’t got one already get yourself a smart turbo trainer (and a very large fan), subscribe to a training app and suitable training plan.
My suggestion would be https://thesufferfest.com/ do the one week Full Frontal training plan https://thesufferfest.com/blogs/training-resources/how-to-get-the-most-out-of-full-frontal followed by a 10 week intermediate plan https://www.trainingpeaks.com/training-plans/cycling/indoor/tp-129172/intermediate-cycling-sustained-weakness
The gains from this type of focused training are huge.
Thanks Chris, was already thinking of using the turbo, important to keep the legs going, I feel with the riding I have done so far they are getting stronger and don't want that to go to waist. I also have access to Watt bikes at David Lloyd gym.
Sorry to hear this Howard. Get well soon.
If your bike needs some exercise, let me know... ;-)
