A perennial favorite of mine. Five riders from the Club took part (Saturday 20th October) including me, Brian Abbott, Wayne Bramley, Paul and Sue. A chilly start but near perfect conditions for the 68 and a bit mile ride from Bolsover. The route changes slightly every year. This time it was out through Clumber Park, where we meandered north east through lanes and villages to end up at the Cafe half way around in Misterton and a welcome break. The return journey took us west across the top of the County and eventually dropped us south and back towards Bolsover. Paul, Sue and Wayne had plenty left in the tank to push on quickly back to the finish being among the first to return I think. Brian and I took it steadier, but still put in a good effort and got back with a placing in the top ten. A great day out with excellent company!
Only 8 riders today with heavy frost and ice about. We all set off together and kept away from the small roads to stay safe. At least the sun was out! This made it a shorter ride than usual to Farnsfield where the café was very busy. This made the stop a little longer but we weren't keen to leave the warmth anyway. At least we managed to get a ride in and stay safe.
