5 of us rode the Lincoln Imp on Saturday, starting at Reepham, east of Lincoln. The first 25 miles was out towards the coast, fairly flat but straight into a tough easterly wind to the first control and cafe stop. We then turned NW and climbed up into the Lincolnshire Wolds. A tough climb up at Tetford then rolling roads to the 2nd stop at Ludford. Then we turned back towards Lincoln and a flat last 15 miles back to the finish. We got round in 4.5 hours riding time, average just over 15 mph with 2500 feet of climbing. A lovely route on quiet roads with great scenery.
Only 8 riders today with heavy frost and ice about. We all set off together and kept away from the small roads to stay safe. At least the sun was out! This made it a shorter ride than usual to Farnsfield where the café was very busy. This made the stop a little longer but we weren't keen to leave the warmth anyway. At least we managed to get a ride in and stay safe.
