A hot sunny day attracted over 20 riders this morning.
With the numbers we split into 2 groups, with one going to Syston and the "easy" (smaller) group to Dove Cottage. We don't go to Dove Cottage very often as the group is usually too big.
It was a very pleasant, sociable ride in the heat and we arrived at the café before many other cyclists. I did 51 miles round trip and found it enough for the day - I struggle with the heat these days!
A hot ride out to Syston via Bottesford, Allington and Gonerby Hill with 17 in the group. The cafe was very busy with all inside tables reserved but we managed to get seated outside and all get served reasonably quickly. Velo Club Flintham were also there. Back along quieter roads through Marston, Hougham and Long Bennington. I turned off after Car Colston to Bingham but still managed 51 miles at 16.4 average.
