Giles led a seperate fast group but with no Ed to lead a slower group, we had quite a big group for the Sunday club run. We did Norman's Loop (thought up by the late Norman Parker, whose funeral was last Friday). This goes out to Kinoulton, then Widmerpool, Willoughby, Old Dalby, Nether Broughton and back to Hickling. Neil punctured at Widmerpool Island, so Kev stopped to help and the rest of us carried on to Widmerpool village, then turned back along the lane to avoid stopping and getting cold. This worked out well - as we crested the bridge by the old Widmerpool station, Neil and Kev came around the corner to meet up with us again. With the delay and longer than usual ride, we didnt get to the cafe until 11.45, but we got served fairly quickly and returned via our outbound route. I ended up with 42 miles at 14.6 average.
Only 8 riders today with heavy frost and ice about. We all set off together and kept away from the small roads to stay safe. At least the sun was out! This made it a shorter ride than usual to Farnsfield where the café was very busy. This made the stop a little longer but we weren't keen to leave the warmth anyway. At least we managed to get a ride in and stay safe.
