Nice club ride with the easy group, sunny day if only I had remembered to put my sun block on as my red knees and forearms testify to. An eventful with with chains coming off and Ben's double punctures and very confusing coaching from Roger!
Set off on a breakaway on the climb to Belvoir, thought I would manage to beat everyone to the top but when Roger and a few others came sailing past about two thirds up I new the game was over.
Little Jacks for poached egg on toast.
Nice ride back to East Bridgford and a right turn where Roger (at the front) sets off down the hill tucked in so when I turn the corner I kicked off and also tucked in, I then noticed a new rider called Dan was hot on my heels, I eventually caught Roger up at the bottom, Dan was not far behind.
Back home caught up with the Giro, gradually falling asleep as I watched, but it was recorded so could rewind it. Great win Simon!
Then its in the garden digging up a tree root which was beating me until I employed the principle of leverage and a two ton trolley jack! (For those that don't know this garden is paying for my trials bike).
Then it ends with a bonfire (burning the trees) and a beer (or two)! What more could you wish for!
