Funny you should mention potholes causing punctures - by the time the message got down the line it was too late and bang Sue A's back wheel had punctured - it was just before a steep descent (phew caught just in time), onto the grass verge and a lightning quick fix. Round trip was a 50 miler - up onto Belvoir ridge and round the back of the Castle, rolling but short climbs to Eastwell, then fast ride to the cafe. New owners (chatty and seemed pleased to see us), a bit of a makeover and, though I can't recommend the coffee, it was a decent mug of tea with homebaked scone and butter. The other food looked OK too. Good ride back, incident free. Lovely ride and fantastic weather - couldn't ask for more.

Was actually Sue's front wheel. Luckily, her mechanic was there to fix it. As we left the cafe, I noticed Sue's back tyre was almost down to the canvas. Another slap on the wrist for the mechanic. Luckily, it held out all the way home and has been replaced with a brand new Gator.
