With lots of riders out again, we split the easy group into 2. My group started with 9, but Grett abandoned into Little Jack's, so 8 of us headed via Belvoir and Plungar to the Coffee Shot in Stathern. It is rather small but with seating outside they coped well. Decent food at a reasonable price and reportedly good coffee (I had tea).
Two new riders Glen (neighbour of Paul Jones) and Phil (CTC) enjoyed it.
As the Government were recommending the old and infirm (like me!) to stay indoors because of the heat, we kept it nice and steady.
Some of the other half of the group (they went to Hickling) caught us around Saxondale.
We went out a similar way but continued up past the castle up onto the ridge. Then past Lakeview and down into Long Clawson and Hickling for our tea stop. It really is a great spot on a sunny day to sit outside the cafe by the canal. Back through the Cropwells and as we came out of Butler, we saw Eds group in front, so Llew put spurt on to catch them by Henson Lane. 11 in our group and I ended up with 43 miles at 16.1 average.
