1st club ride of the year - 13 out on a glorious summer-like day. I did offer to split the group but they were happy to ride as one rather disjointed group due to differing levels of fitness. Out via Bottesford to Woolsthorpe, then up the climb past the front of the Castle onto the Belvoir ridge. We then dropped down into Long Clawson for a tea stop, where we also met Phil and Mary’s group. Plenty of room to spread out in the sunshine.
We came back the normal way, through Hickling, Kinoulton and the Cropwells. We split up into 2 groups coming back, the stronger riders wanting to press on a little. 43 miles for me, at a healthy 15.6 mph with 1400 feet of climbing.
